Connect local Ollama to Nodagentry
Let Nodagentry in the browser call models already running on your PC.
In the editor, choose Live, open Models, and select Ollama on this PC. Your browser connects to Ollama on the same computer at http://127.0.0.1:11434. Ollama must allow this site, and your browser may ask for local network permission.
This setting is a CORS allow-list. It does not put your models on the internet. Leave Ollama listening on localhost. Do not set OLLAMA_HOST=0.0.0.0.
What to set
OLLAMA_ORIGINS=https://nodagentry.com
Quit Ollama fully, set the variable, then start Ollama again so it picks it up.
Windows 11
- Right-click the Ollama tray icon → Quit. It must fully exit.
- Start menu → search environment variables → Edit the system environment variables → Environment Variables.
- Under User variables, New. Name
OLLAMA_ORIGINS. Valuehttps://nodagentry.com. - OK out, then start Ollama from the Start menu.
- In a new PowerShell:
echo $env:OLLAMA_ORIGINS
PowerShell alternative:
[System.Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable("OLLAMA_ORIGINS", "https://nodagentry.com", "User")macOS
launchctl setenv OLLAMA_ORIGINS "https://nodagentry.com"
Quit the Ollama app and open it again.
Linux (systemd)
sudo systemctl edit ollama [Service] Environment="OLLAMA_ORIGINS=https://nodagentry.com" sudo systemctl daemon-reload sudo systemctl restart ollama
Ollama is running, but the browser cannot connect
- Use the same computer for your browser and Ollama. The browser connects to port 11434 on that computer, not your Vercel server.
- Restart Ollama after changing OLLAMA_ORIGINS. A running process will not automatically inherit the new setting.
- Check the allowed origin is exactly https://nodagentry.com, and review any local-network permission prompt in your browser.
- Open Connect models in the editor and check the connection status before running Live.
OLLAMA_ORIGINS controls which browser origins may connect. OLLAMA_HOST controls the listening address. Keep the localhost address for this same-computer setup.
See the official Ollama configuration guide for your installation's settings.
Try your first visual workflow
Start with the incident-routing example in Sim, then choose Live and your local Ollama connection to compare actual model output. Sim needs neither an account nor a model key.
Open the workflow exampleOn a phone, localhost means the phone itself, not your desktop. Use Cloud for a device without Ollama. Event Run URLs always execute on Ollama Cloud; they cannot reach models on your PC.
